Education
Education is at the heart of the Cults Library Trust. Our vision is for the library to be more than a place to borrow books - we want it to become a hub of learning, creativity, and wellbeing for the whole community.
Our Aims
Support local schools and families with resources and projects that enrich the curriculum.
Encourage lifelong learning through workshops, talks, and community programmes.
Promote literacy and wellbeing by providing access to books, digital tools, and safe spaces for study.
Empower volunteers to share knowledge, develop skills, and inspire others.
Laying the Groundwork
Although the library is not yet reopened, we have already begun:
Building relationships with local schools, including Cults Academy and the ASG primary schools, to explore partnership opportunities.
Preparing resources and policies so that we are ready to launch education programmes once the library is operational.
Developing projects such as Zen Zones - calming, pop-up spaces to support pupil wellbeing - which can be offered on loan to schools.
Planning a bank of free learning materials that will be available online and in the library when we reopen.
Opportunities to Get Involved
Schools: We’d love to hear from teachers and school leaders about how the library can best support your pupils.
Volunteers: Join our education and library team to help shape resources, contribute ideas, or prepare future activities.
Families and Community Members: Share your suggestions on what kinds of workshops, events, or resources you’d most like to see when we reopen.
Looking Ahead
Once the doors of Cults Library reopen, our aim is to launch a vibrant programme of educational opportunities - from literacy and wellbeing projects, to workshops, talks, and after-school clubs. With your input and support, the library will grow into a living centre of knowledge and inspiration for all ages.
